Rookie Scrimmage
our league had a ref clinic this weekend and at the end the rookie refs, refed a rookie scrimmage. It was “Rookie-palooza”! I took the clinic, but skated in the scrimmage. It was the first time i got to skate on a regulation track, with refing and penalties, etc.. It was so awesome! I took a few good hits and only gave one or two (need to work on that), but did pretty good with positional blocking. our team won by 4 points. The ref clinic was so good for figuring out the rules and gaining a huge respect for refs…it’s freakin hard.
