I Love Santa
I think I am more comfy in my skates than these, but aren’t they gorgeous (especially with my new knee socks)?  I have never been drawn to high heel shoes, but I saw these in our local awesome shoe store and it was love at first sight.  Santa saw the love in my eyes and couldn’t resist.  Although he was tempted to return them after he found out I would be on crutches for the next few...

Happy Holidays!
This isn’t quite how I was expecting my Christmas Holiday to go.  I was thinking of taking advantage of the good snow with some x-country skiing and snowboarding with the family.  The kids are finally at an age where we can all ride together and it is actually fun!   And, of course, the big plan was to continue training for my first bout.   Looks like that will be postponed a little, but...

Aren't They Pretty...Bad Ass?
This was when they were brand spanking new.  They are well loved now.  My kids call them:  ”mommy’s babies”.  I ordered them online from www.rollergirl.ca.  I was a little nervous about ordering my skates online, but I couldn’t be happier with them.  The ladies at Rollergirl know their shit!

Welcome Friends and Fellow Derby Addicts
Bare with me, I’m usually more of a “doer” than a “blogger”, but I have recently been sidelined.  Technically, I’m still Freshmeat.  In roller derby, one is considered “Freshmeat” until they pass a skills test which deems them capable and safe to play in a bout.  I was 4 days from my skills test and 1 month away from my first bout when an...
